Hamilton, Clerk State of Illinois Menard County I do solemnly swear that this writing contains the true last will and testament of the within named Francis Bell deceased, so far as I know or believe, and that I will well and truly execute the same by paying first the debts and then the legacies mentioned therein so far as his goods and chattels will thereinto extend and due law charges me; and that I will make a true and perfect inventory of all such goods and chattels, rights and credits as may come to my hands or knowledge; belonging to the estate of said deceased, and render a fair and just account of my executorship when thereunto required by law to the best of my knowledge and ability. So help me God. RS Bone Subscribed and sworn to before me this 16th day of July AD 1866 Hobart Hamilton, Clerk I, Francis Bell of Menard County State of Illinois do make and ordain this my last will and testament as follows to wit: First I devise that all my just debts be paid Second I devise to my daughter Margaret B. Clark three hundred dollars Third I devise to my son Thomas A. Bell three hundred dollars Fourth I devise to my daughter Mary B. Allen three hundred dollars Fifth I devise to heirs of my son Robert W. Bell five dollars each Sixth I devise to my son Daniel R. Bell three hundred dollars Seventh I devise to heirs of my son Zachariah Bell three hundred dollars Eighth I devise to my son Francis M. Bell three hundred dollars Ninth I devise to the heirs of my daughter Margery Ann Howard deceased three hundred dollars Tenth I devise to my son John J. Bell three hundred dollars Eleventh I devise to my son William C. Bell three hundred dollars. Also my personal effects to wit one horse & buggy, books, bedding cloths Twelfth I devise that all my funeral expenses be paid Thirteenth I devise to the Sangamon Presbytery of the Cumberlain Presbyterian Church a five hundred dollar scholarship taken in Lincoln University for the purpose of educating candidates for the gospel ministery or other persons designated by the Presbytery. Fourteenth I devise the remainder of my estate whatever my be left to the Alton Board of Mission of the Cumberlain Presbyterian Church as a permanent fund the interests of which alone to be used. Fifteenth I appoint Robert S. Bone as my executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills On testimony whereof I have hereunto set hand and seal this 16th of June 1866 Francis Bell Signed sealed and acknowledged in presence of the undersigned who acts the same as witnesses in the presence and at the request of the testators Robert Bone Tarlton Lloyd State of Illinois Menard County Robert S. Bone being duly sworn deposes and says the Francis Bell late of the County of Menard and State of Illinois, is dead, and that he died on or about the 21st day of June AD 1866 after having made and published his last will and testament and that his personal estate will probably amount to the sum of $5000.00; that said Francis Bell left at the time of his decease, No widow, and Margaret B. Clark, Thomas A. Bell, Mary B. Allen, heirs of Robert W. Bell, David R. Bell. Heirs of Zachariah Bell, Francis M. Bell, Margary Anne Howard, John J. Bell & Wm. C. Bell his children. R.S.
