Collins, farmer, P. O. Morris, was born in Grundy County, Ill., October 7, 1859, and is the youngest son of Joshua Collins, Sr., and Harriet Cryder. He received his early education in the common schools of this county, and finished at the high school at Morris. He took charge of the home place after the death of his father, which he now owns, and from surroundings, it would impress one that he is quite energetic and practical in all his operations. He handles a great deal of stock and raises large crops of grain. His mother still lives with and keeps house for him, as he is still unmarried. Politically, a Republican. His father started quite poor and accumulated quite a large and valuable property, which his widow and children are now enjoying, and his grandfather was one among the earliest settlers of the county.
