He was born at Galesburg, Ill., a son of Leonard and Barbara (Missinburger) Hahn, both natives of Germany, who located at Galesburg, Ill., later coming to Good Farm Township, where they died and were buried. They had five children. George Leonard Hahn was educated in Good Farm Township where he grew to manhood amid rural surroundings. When he began farming for himself, he rented land, but eventually was able to purchase his present property which has become very valuable. On it he carries on general farming with profit to himself and benefit to his community. In 1884 Mr. Hahn married Anna Bush, and they became the parents of seven children: Laura, Edna, Lena, Lillie, Sophia, Walter and Arnold. The Lutheran Church holds his membership and has his effective support of both time and money. A democrat he has served as school director of Good Farm Township for some time, and is interested in educational matters.
