Author: History Grundy County 1882

Albert Hollenbeck, farmer, P. O. Verona, is a son of Abram and Jane A. 
Hollenbeck, and is a native of Dutchess County, N. Y., born August 22, 1845. 
His parents came to Illinois and settled in Vienna Township, Grundy County. 
His father, Abram Hollenbeck, was born in New York June 23, 1809, and died in 
Vienna Township, Grundy County, October 10, 1854. His mother is now living in 
Morris, wife of William H. Curtis, one of the pioneers of the county. Mr. 
Hollenbeck is the third of a family of five children. He received the elements 
of an English education in Grundy County, and January 1, 1880, married Miss 
Imogene Reed, of La Salle County, Ill., born in Freedom Township, La Salle 
County, July 5, 1860. They have a son - Marion A., born in this county 
December 6, 1880. Mr. Hollenbeck now owns a farm of 130 acres of land in 
Section 18 of Vienna Township, besides controlling a farm of 190 acres in 
Sections 17 and 18, owned by William H. Curtis. His residence is seven miles 
southeast from Seneca and five miles northwest from Verona. Mr. Hollenbeck is 
among the substantial farmers of Vienna Township. In politics, he is 
Republican, and he is a member of the Central Committee. His mother, Jane A. 
Hinchman, was born in New York February 13, 1817, and was married to Abram 
Hollenbeck January 15, 1835.
