Author: History of Grundy County, 1914

Hyde, Ebenezer (deceased), formerly a merchant of Morris, was born in 
Berkshire County, Mass., February 21, 1811, and in 1855, he came to Morris 
where he embarked in the lumber business.  He bought a farm ten miles south of 
Morris, and was a man of independent fortune.  For a number of years he 
resided on the corner of Main and Calhoun streets, Morris.  Mr. Hyde was a 
Republican in his political views.
