Author: History of Grundy County, 1914

Irons, Salem, one of the early settlers of Mazon Township, was born in 
Massachusetts, October 18, 1823, and came to Mazon Township, Grundy County, in 
1854.  Here he bought 145 acres of land and became a successful 
agriculturalist of this locality.  He married Harriet Yaw and they had three 
children, namely:  Henry A., Maria, and Clara I.
