Author: History Grundy County 1882

Gunner Johnson, farmer, P. O. Morris, was born in Norway, December 19, 1835, 
son of John Peterson and Annie Gunderson, both of Norway. The former was born 
about 1790, and was a farmer until his death, which occurred in 1865. The 
mother of our subject was born in 1794, and died in 1876. In Morris, Ill., 
August 16, 1870, Mr. Johnson married Caroline Johnson, a native of Norway, 
born in 1850. She is the daughter of John and Julia Peterson, and the mother 
of four children, viz., John O. and Annie, deceased; George and Annie J. still 
living. Mr. Johnson is a member of the Lutheran Church and a Republican.
