When he was nine years old, he removed with his parents to Morris, where he was principally educated. His father afterward moved to Braidwood, where he is still engaged in business. Subject was married, April 24, 1878, to Miss Ada Lish, daughter of John and Susan Lish, of Essex, Ill. She was born January 7, 1859. They have one son - William F., born November 11, 1881. Mr. Rankin came to Mazon, February 14, 1879, and engaged in general mercantile business. One year after, he established the Mazon Creamery, with which he is doing a flourishing business.
