O. Morris, was born in Genoa, Cayuga County, N. Y., October 6, 1826; his father, Benjamin Tupper, was a farmer, and was born in Bennington County, Vt., August 28, 1790, and died October 21, 1874; his mother's maiden name was Philinda Cutter. They had eight children. The subject came to this county in February, 1857; he received his education at the Genoa Academy, N. Y., and began life as a farmer; he has filled many and various offices, having been Sheriff, Township Treasurer, School Director, and Township Supervisor. November 21, 1854, Mr. Tupper was married in Venice, Cayuga County, N. Y., to Sarah Nelson, who was born May 5, 1833, in Sing Sing, Westchester Co., N. Y.; she was the daughter of Joseph G. and Pamela Nelson. Her father was born in Westchester County, N. Y., in 1792, and died in the fall of 1863; her mother was born in New York City in 1804 and died in 1859. Mr. Tupper is a member of the Baptist Church, and votes the Republican ticket.
