William Paul of Joliet called on friends here Friday. Miss Mildred Fluent was a visitor in Chicago last Friday. Professor Eckels and wife were Chicago visitors Saturday. Mrs. Charles Coop entertained her sister from Chicago a few days last week. Mrs. A. K. Knapp and Miss Mildred Fluent were Chicago visitors Tuesday. Mrs. Gwynne returned Wednesday from a two weeks' visit with relatives and friends in Chicago. Ray Davis, who is attending school at Beloit, Wisconsin, spent Thanksgiving with his relatives here. W. A. Clark and family ate Thanksgiving dinner at the home of Frank Eneix near Rock Run. M. L. Kaffer and family left Tuesday noon for Oklahoma where they will make their home in the future. Miss Eunice Ferguson started to school in Joliet Monday morning. She has taken up a course in bookkeeping. Dr. J. H. Brinckerhoff and family were entertained at Mrs. Brinckerhoff's sister's in Chicago Thanksgiving. Mrs. George Tinder and Mr. and Mrs. William Coop spent Thursday with George Tinder Jr. in Joliet. Mrs. John Van Dolson entertained Mrs. D. C. Crook and Mrs. Sadie Lane, of Chicago, at dinner last Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Henneberry and little daughter ate Thanksgiving dinner with the former's mother at Wilmington. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Murphey, Mrs. Edward Holt, Miss Olive Holt, and Miss Mamie Whittington were guests last Thursday at the home of William H. Murphey in Joliet. Misses Helen and Mary Comerford, Catherine Clennon and Ethel Patten, who attend St. Angela's Academy, in Morris, spent Thanksgiving with relatives here, returning to Morris Sunday morning. The Board of Village Trustees entertained M. L. Kaffer Saturday evening at Bert Ward's as a "farewell". Mr. Kaffer has been an efficient member of the board for the past few years and his work and services will be much missed by the other members of the board. Mrs. Charles Murley died at her home west of town last Saturday evening, Dec. 1, about 6 o'clock, after an illness of several weeks. She leaves a husband and one son, Clarence Murley, and six brothers and three sisters to mourn her loss. The funeral was held Monday at 12 o'clock from the house to the Aux Sable M. E. church.
