Mrs. GORHAM went to Joliet Saturday for a short visit. William COOP was in Morris Saturday on business. Charles TINDER is sick with tonsilitis. William ROLFS returned from Chicago Monday after a week's visit there. Miss Fannie SHEPLEY is sick this week. Postmaster TROWBRIDGE is recovering from a short illness with the grip. George GORHAM, who is a fireman on the C. & E. I. R. R., is visiting his mother here this week. Miss Maude THAYER is spending a couple of weeks with relatives and friends in Joliet. The Misses Agnes SPERRY and Anna BARNHART were down from Joliet visiting the BELL sisters Sunday. Carroll FRANK, of Chicago, spent Sunday with George TINDER and family. A crowd of Minooka young folks enjoyed the fine sleighing Monday evening. Miss Emma COOP who now lives in Joliet made a short visit home Friday evening. Miller FIELDS and sister, of Chicago, visited Edward OAKS and family Sunday. Mrs. Ambrose BRANNICK fell last Friday and sustained severe bruises but no serious injury. The friends of Miss Elizabeth COOP will be glad to know that she is able to be out again after an illness with pneumonia. A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Asa Van ZANDT, of Seward, Jan. 10, and a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Edward MORRISON, Jan. 11. Messrs. John and William WHITE, of Chicago, came Saturday to visit their brother Charles A. WHITE, who is sick with typhoid fever. A family reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Theo. KREIN Sunday. Their seven sons and daughters were all present. The ENEIX estate, consisting of the farm of 162 acres in Channahon township, was sold by the master in chancery in Joliet last Monday and was bought by Abraham and Frank McCOWAN for $10,044, or $62 per acre. The sale is generally regarded as a good bargain for your purchaser. Invitations are out for the marriage of Miss Etta THAYER, of Aux Sable, and Mr. Earl Van ZANDT, of Zion City, to occur at the bride's home, next Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 6 o'clock p.m. The bride to be is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles THAYER. The groom holds a position as mail carrier in Zion City but holds about the same relation to the Dowie followers that the hair did to the butter. The Catholic married ladies gave a card party last Friday evening and the event was attended by a large crowd. The ladies' first prize was awarded to Mrs. John BRANNICK, second to Mrs. E. KINSELLA; gentlemen's first to C. E. DAVIS and second to Master Jimmie McDONALD. After the prizes were distributed, supper was served and the light fantastic step was indulged in until 3 a.m. All report a very pleasant time.
