KNAPP spent a day of last week in Lockport. S. F. TROWBRIDGE is suffering with an attack of rheumatism. Mrs. E. CARROLL and daughter spent last week in Chicago visiting relatives. George COLLEPS and daughter, Miss Mattie, were Chicago visitors Thursday. Miss Mae TINDER is enjoying a vacation this week and is visiting with friends in Chicago. Mrs. J. BARKE, of Joliet, spent a few days of last week visiting Mrs. J. SHEPLEY in this place. Miss Melinda SCHELBE, of Lockport, returned home Tuesday after a few days' visit with relatives here. Michael WHELAN returned Wednesday from the west where he had been visiting different points for his health. Howard ANDREWS went to Rock Island Thursday to take the Rock Island's examination for a telegraph operator. A union closing day picnic of the Henderson, Martin and White Willow schools was held last Saturday in Henderson's grove. Howard BRINCKERHOFF, of Lockport, spent several days of the past week here with his brother, Dr. J. J. BRINCKERHOFF and family. Master Leon TROWBRIDGE, who has been attending school at Lincoln, Ill., accompanied his mother home from that place last week. Matthew PAUL, of Troy, having completed his large new barn will give a dance therein June 9th to all who enjoy the light fantastic step. Elmer BRINCKERHOFF, brother of the Minooka physician, is clerking in the latter's store here this week. He is a student at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Chicago but is having a vacation this week. The big rain storm Sunday morning was accompanied by some hail and some citizens were apprehensive of a repetition of the damage done the week before in Joliet and elsewhere.
