BLY, of Joliet, visiting John BLY and family of Sand Ridge. Douglas HINES, of Morris, visited friends in town last Thursday. Robert CARROLL was in Joliet Wednesday. I. H. HOOPER transacted business in Joliet Wednesday. William COOP transacted business in Joliet Friday. A. E. TRASK, of Galesburg, Ill., visited our town Friday. Robert CAMPBELL spent Friday evening with his parents here. Mrs. E. KINSELLA spent last Monday in Joliet. Miss Mary CANTWELL spent Sunday with J. SHIELDS and family. Several Minooka people will enjoy a private picnic in Morris the Fourth. Miss Tessie McEVILLY returned Tuesday from a week's visit in Morris. Mr. and Mrs. George TINDER and son Charles were Joliet visitors Saturday. Carl PUTNAM, of Indiana, was at the WATSON home here one day last week. Miss Emma PARKS, of Indiana, visited among relatives here a few days last week. Mr. and Mrs. John SHEPLEY and daughter Vivian drove to Joliet Wednesday. On account of those noisy "locusses" (locusts) we didn't hear the wedding bells ring. William PATTEN and wife attended the barn dance at George PATTERSON's home Friday evening. Edward HOLT and daughter, Miss Ollie, and Mrs. William HOLT were Joliet visitors Wednesday. William KILELEN, of Marseilles, transacted business in and about town a few days of this week. Mrs. Mary MURAWSKI and baby, of Chicago, are visiting here with the former's cousin, the COOPs. The piano pupils of Mrs. John WIDENER gave a fine recital at the home of C. E. DAVIS Thursday evening. Harley HULBERT, of Channahon, who has been doing concrete work at the St. Mary's parsonage, completed his work last Thursday. Some from here attended the church sociable Thursday evening at the home of Charles SHERRILL and family in White Willow. Mr. and Mrs. John BLY, of Sand Ridge, are the proud parents of another daughter who came to their home Thursday morning, June 15. Will COULEHAN, while playing one day last week, sprained his shoulder severely and suffered intense pain until medical aid was summoned. Miss Esther KNIBBS, of Sioux City, Iowa, and Mrs. William KNIBBS and daughter, of Dakota, are visiting the COOP families in this vicinity. Mrs. G. G. SMITH and little son, of Newton, Kansas, have been visiting here for a week at the home of Mrs. SMITH's aunt, Mrs. A. K. KNAPP. Mr. and Mrs. Frank JONES returned here Friday from Missouri where they had been visiting. They intend to make their future home in Joliet. John WILLEY returned a few days ago from Minnesota where he bought 320 acres of land. James BAKER left Tuesday for the same section. A grand 4th of July picnic will be held in Walley's grove and committees are now busy arranging for the patriotic event. Mrs. Alex WALSTRUM went to Joliet Friday to meet her sister, Miss Nellie BUSHNELL, who had been visiting relatives in Wisconsin. She will remain here with her sister until July. Tuesday evening, June 13, quite a number attended the Masonic Lodge in Channahon. Among them were W. A. THAYER, Edward HEAP, Charles DIRST and William BULLOCK. This Friday night occurs the commencement exercises of the Minooka high school. Rev. Father DUNNE has accepted the invitation to deliver the address. A large crowd filled the M. E. church Sunday evening in spite of the hot weather to hear the children render their recitations and songs which were nicely given and enjoyed by all.
