GEBHARDT, of Morris, called on friends here Friday. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. DAVIS were in Joliet Wednesday. Mrs. Fred PATTEN has been quite sick the past week. Will COOP and wife called on country friends Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Will MARTIN were Joliet callers Saturday. Mrs. J. J. BRINCKERHOFF was in Lockport Wednesday. Pat WHALEN, of Lisbon, visited his brother, Michael, Friday. J. P. McEVILLY visited friends and relatives in Morris Saturday. Charles TINDER is learning telegraphy of C. A. TROWBRIDGE. Clarence CHURCHILL was quite sick for several days with a cold. Alva WESTON, of Joliet, spent Wednesday evening with his wife. John and Ed. SHEPLEY transacted business in Joliet Wednesday. Miss Mae McEVILLY, of Morris, is visiting relatives here this week. Dr. J. J. BRINCKERHOFF was called to Lockport on business Friday. Will PAUL, of Joliet, was in our village visiting old friends Tuesday. Miss Luella TEMPLETON is spending this week with her sisters in Joliet. Mrs. Laura DALY, of Plainfield, spent a few days here with friends. Miss Mertie BELL, of Chicago, was home on a visit a few days last week. Mrs. Earl VanZANDT, of Zion City, is visiting a few weeks with her parents. Jim PAUL returned to his home in Joliet where he expects to commence works. John DWYER and wife are the proud parents of another son, born Thursday, Aug. 3. Mae TINDER went to Chicago Saturday for a few days' visit with Miss CAMERON. Mrs. A. WESTON visited her sister, Mrs. LeRoy SAGE, of Chicago Heights, a few days. The Misses Mattie and Bessie COLLEPS and Lulu LaROCHE were in Joliet Wednesday. Clarence PHILLIPS, of Drummond, commenced work tending bar for M. WHALEN Friday. Born, to Mr. and Mrs. G. TINDER, Jr., a daughter, Tuesday 8, 1905,(sic) at the home of Mrs. G. TINDER, Sr. Mrs. KNAPP and niece, Miss FLUENT, left here Thursday for Iowa for a visit and will be absent about four weeks. Mrs. KREIN moved her household goods to Chicago Wednesday where they expect to make their future home. M. WHALEN and John McEVILLY started Tuesday for Colorado where they expect to spend several weeks. Misses Jessie TABLER, of Seneca, and Edith BLY, of Joliet, were the guests of Mrs. E. H. TABLER last week. Tommie CAUGHLIN returned from his home in Chicago to remain with his aunt, Mrs. Mary CANTWELL, of this place. Gus BUSH and wife were here the first of the week to see the latter's mother, Mrs. Fred PATTEN, who has been quite sick. Mrs. Tillie BELL, Leslie and Perdetta BELL, accompanied by a friend, of Chicago, visited relatives and friends here the past week. Mrs. Fannie WERNER, of Indiana, who has spending a couple of weeks with I. J. KNIGHT and family returned home Thursday. The Missionary society held its meeting at the home of Dr. J. J. BRINCKERHOFF Friday afternoon. Mrs. Bryan HUTCHINSON, of Joliet, attended the meeting. Garnett ANDREWS, who has been working on the section for the E. J. & E. R. R., had quit that work and began learning telegraphy at the Western Union Telegraph office. Miss Lulu LaROCHE, who has been visiting Miss Mattie COLLEPS the past two weeks, returned to her home in Wilmington Monday. Miss COLLEPS accompanied her as far as Joliet. Quite a number from here and vicinity attended the dance at Electric Park, in Plainfield, Thursday evening and report having a fine time as all lovers of good music greatly enjoy Eversoll's orchestra.
