George TINDER was down from Joliet Friday for a short visit. Miss Katherine McEVILLY was a visitor to Joliet Saturday. HOLT Brothers shelled corn at the KNAPP cribs here this week. Mrs. C. A. TROWBRIDGE was sick with tonsilitis a few days last week. Bert WARD has placed a new refrigerator in his confectionery store. Mrs. C. E. DAVIS and Mrs. C. C. CHURCHILL were Chicago visitors Thursday. The Misses SHADLER visited for a few days with James FRECKELTON and family. Miss Luella TEMPLETON visited Miss Addie BAILY Wednesday and Thursday. Robert CARROLL attended the state fair at Springfield Wednesday and Thursday. Mrs. Theodore KREIN and son John, of Chicago, were in town Wednesday. Mrs. J. H. PYLE and daughter Grace visited Mrs. W. JAGGARD Wednesday. Mrs. W. A. CLARK and Miss Katherine KINNEY were Chicago visitors Wednesday. Misses Frank and Lottie WATSON returned from their western trip Sunday morning. Dr. J. J. BRINCKERHOFF and family attended the wedding of Dr. BRINCKERHOFF's sister in Lockport last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Richard COOP returned home Wednesday from Indiana stopping in Chicago en route for a short visit with their son Daniel. Henry TRUBY and family came down from Joliet Sunday in their automobile and spent the afternoon with Dr. J. S. WATSON and family. G. H. KROGNESS has moved his family into the telephone office where they expect to live this winter. Mr. KROGNESS has gone to Wilmington where he has opened a billard(sic) hall. Several friends planned and executed a pleasant surprise on Mr. and Mrs. M. L. KAFFER last Monday evening in honor of their tenth, or tin, wedding anniversary. All present enjoyed a delightful time. D. A. HENNEBERRY, Robert SHURTLEFF and John HENNEBERRY, the latter of Lorenzo, left here last Tuesday on a trip up into the Milestone district of Assiniboia, Canada, where they intend to invest in land if things look right to them. They will be absent a week or more.
