Charles TRUBY, of Joliet, was in town Friday evening. Mrs. Henry BRANNICK has been visiting with friends in Joliet the past week. J. H. MURPHEY left Tuesday for Colorado accompanied by his son, W. H., of Joliet. The Misses Mildred and Ethel WATSON and Lizzie CONLEY were Joliet visitors Saturday. Mrs. L. A. WARD has been sick the past week with tonsilitis. Her son, Earl, is also sick with the same. Mrs. JONES, of Joliet, formerly Miss PAUL, of Minooka, has been visiting among kindred and friends here this week. A large number attended the Eastern Star card party Tuesday evening and all present enjoyed themselves immensely. Several of the local Knights attended the Pythian lodge in Wilmington Monday evening going over in Frank BEITH's automobile. The drillers began work on the village well Tuesday morning and at noon were down in the clay ten feet. They are making good progress. A large crowd turned out to the basket social held in Masonic hall, Friday evening, and all had a fine time. The baskets sold at prices ranging from 35c to $300. Mrs. Thomas TALBOT and daughter, Mrs. M. L. KAFFER, who started for Oklahoma Tuesday of last week, were delayed in Joliet by the sudden death of Mrs. TALBOT's brother-in-law. After attending the funeral in Joliet Friday they returned home having postponed their western trip for an indefinite time. Harry THAYER and sister, Miss Ollie, were in Salt Lake City when last heard from and report that they are enjoying the time of their lives. They have made stops at Denver, Colorado Springs, Leadville, Glenwood Springs, and other points. On their return they will again visit in Denver and at points in Kansas. Rev. J. W. LOWREY, the new M. E. pastor and family, have gotten settled in the parsonage here. Their goods arrived over the E. J. & E. last Friday. Rev. LOWREY has made a very favorable impression in the community and is a speaker of much ability. He has a wife and four children here and four sons and one daughter located in Joliet. Married: At the Minooka M. E. parsonage Wednesday evening, Oct. 18, 1905, at 7 o'clock, Mr. Clarence MURLEY and Miss Mamie EDMONDSON, Rev. Wilmer JAGGARD officiating. The happy couple left Thursday morning for Chicago where they expect to remain for several days. We join the many friends in extending best wishes and congratulations.
