Mrs. G. TINDER and son Charles were in Joliet Saturday. Dr. J. J. BRINCKERHOFF made a business trip to Chicago Tuesday. Misses Bessie COLLEPS and Clara NIELSEN were in Joliet Tuesday. I. V. HOOPER and daughter Bernice were Wilmington visitors Monday. Miss Tessie McEVILLY returned home from her Chicago visit Friday evening. The Misses Louise and Kate DEEMING, of Lockport, visited Dr. J. J. BRINCKERHOFF and family Monday. A large number of farmers have finished their husking and, taking advantage of this fine weather, are plowing. John F. McEVILLY, who had been visiting in the far west for the past three months, returned home Friday evening. J. LAIN, of Worth, Indiana, and C. E. FRANK and wife, of Chicago, spent Saturday evening and Sunday with G. W. TINDER and family. Mrs. FOOTE who had been spending several months with Edward PATTON and family left here Saturday to visit her son Charles in Chicago. The public school teachers of this vicinity held a meeting at Mrs. Florence STRATTON's Monday evening to discuss topics of mutual interest. Miss Mary CANTWELL, who had been visiting her sister at Odell, returned home Tuesday. See is going to nurse Mrs. RUSHTON in place of Miss DEMPSY who has been there five months. The Dark Town Swells that gave a show here Monday evening were appreciated by a large crowd. The show was the best that has been in Minooka in many moons. Seneca was the next stop for the troupe.
