Henry DWYER visited in the city Friday. George RUSS called on friends in Joliet Friday. Miss Anna DWYER was a Joliet visitor Thursday. Miss Grace STEEL visited with Miss Mae TINDER over Sunday. Miss Kittie KINNEY spent last Sunday with friends in Chicago. The O. E. S. elected officers Tuesday evening for the coming year. William COOP is the purchaser of a new piano which arrived Tuesday. O. OSMON and Miss Grace PYLE visited friends in this place Monday. Mr. RICE and C. L. FRANK, of Chicago, spent Sunday with G. TINDER and family. Daniel HALL returned home Friday from Morris where he had been attending court. Mrs. G. L. HOOPER, who has been very sick for the past six weeks, is now improving. A number from here attended the show and dance in Plattville Wednesday evening. Richard TEMPLETON and wife, of Michigan, spent several days with his brother, John, and family here. John CONNELL, of Storm Lake, Iowa, arrived here Monday and is visiting among his numerous relatives. The supper given by the ladies of the M. E. church Thursday evening, was a pleasant event and was well attended. Mrs. Arthur HOWARD and sister, Maude O'BRIEN, of Plattville, and Miss Luella MILLS, of Chicago, were the guests of Mrs. William PATTEN Monday. W. A. THAYER is again at his shop, after being laid up with a lame foot for nearly two weeks. The injured foot still gives him some trouble, however. A pleasant card party was given last Friday evening by Mrs. C. CHURCHILL at her home to a number of her friends. Mrs. N. J. COMERFORD captured the ladies' first prize and H. P. BRANNICK won the gentleman's honors. The annual election of officers of Minooka Lodge, No. 528 A. F. & A. M., was held last Thursday evening and the following were chosen: W. M., C. E. DAVIS; S. W., D. C. CROOK; J. W., John PATTEN; secretary, W. A. CLARE; treasurer, C. F. DIRST. The other officers are appointive and have not been announced.
