BRINCKERHOFF was a Joliet visitor Tuesday. Geo. ROST's three children are sick with the grippe. The "White Minstrels" are coming. Watch for them. Mr. BEATTIE, of Elwood, was a visitor in town Monday. George COLLEPS transacted business in Chicago Wednesday. W. E. DEAN, of Joliet, was looking up business here Monday. DIRST & HOLBROOK shipped a car load of hogs Tuesday night. William COOP and wife spent Sunday in Joliet visiting friends. Charles CARROLL, of Joliet, spent Sunday here with his mother. Jay WIDNEY shipped a car load of cattle from here Monday night. Charles CAMPBELL has been quite sick with tonsilitis the past week. Miss Katherine McEVILLY is spending this week with Mrs. F. MILLER. Alfred PATTEN has opened a shooting gallery next to CAMPBELL's harness shop. Charles WEESE and son, of Morris, visited the former's parents here over Sunday. Robert CARROLL and Miss Mattie COLLEPS were Joliet visitors Sunday evening. Miss Melinda SCHEIBE, of Lockport, visited her sister Mrs. J. J. BRINCKERHOFF the past week. Mr. Wade EVERSOLL, of Joliet, who has a violin case here, came on Thursday of this week instead of Wednesday. Margaret, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. KAFFER, has been very sick with pneumonia but is improving now. On account of the rain and sleet freezing on the telephone and telegraph wires, considerable damage was done thereby Monday. There is a rifle to be given away for the best shot at the gallery this week. There are already a number of good records made. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. BUCKLEY spent Sunday with F. MILLER and family. Miss Celia WALSH, of Joliet, is also visiting here with the MILLERs. George HALL, living west of town, was found in his barn, hepless from a stroke of paralysis, Saturday morning. He was in a very critical condition and his relatives were sent for. Mr. HALL died Wednesday morning at 7:30 and the funeral occurred at Aux Sable church Friday. Transcribed 11/13/1998 by Deb Haines.
