KAFFER are the proud parents of a fine son, born a few days ago. George NEWSAM and wife, of Odell, Ill., visited with Mr. and Mrs. C. A. TROWBRIDGE here Monday. Mr. and Mrs. D. A. HENNEBERRY enjoyed the "Prince of India" at a Chicago theatre Tuesday night. Misses Mae TINDER and Alta HARE heard Sousa's famous band at the Joliet Theatre Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur HOWARD were at the Joliet Theatre Saturday evening and enjoyed hearing Sousa's band. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. DAVIS entertained about two dozen of their friends at "Point Euchre" Friday evening. Robert MILLER, who has conducted a barber shop here for a few years past, has gone to Chicago where he is working at the trade. Mrs. S. A. FERGUSON and daughter Ruth are sick with tonsilitis, Miss Eunice FERGUSON is much improved from her sickness. About fifteen men from White Willow boarded the train here Tuesday morning for Chicago where they invested in a threshing machine outfit. Both the democratic and republican caucuses for the Township of Aux Sable will be held in Krein's hall at different hours next Saturday afternoon, March 17. Mr. and Mrs. L. HOLBROOK, Mrs. C. A. TROWBRIDGE, Misses Franc, Lottie and Ethel WATSON, Ella HENDERSON, Belle GASKILL, Ruth ALEXANDER and Len GASKILL visited the Eastern Star Chapter at Plainfield last Saturday evening. About twenty friends of Charles TINDER gathered at the home of his sister, Mrs. Wm. COOP, last Thursday evening and gave him a delightful surprise. Games were played and a fine lunch was served. A good time was enjoyed by all present. The well drillers are still at a stand still so far as adding to the depth of the village well is concerned. The drill is still fast in the well and for three or four days no work was done at getting it out pending the receipt of some appliances from Chicago. L. A. WARD will cease his duties as rural mail carrier today, and his route will be taken by E. E. CAMPBELL, the present carrier on one of the other routes. Mr. CAMPBELL's successor has not yet been appointed. John GREENBACK is the substitute carrier and he may be advanced to the position. G. I. HOOPER would also like to secure the place.
