The annual statement of the village finances appears in this issue and shows a good balance of cash on hand for prosecuting the work of putting in the waterworks system. It will be noticed that the well has been paid for in full and it may be stated that there are practically no bills outstanding against the municipality. The village officials deserve special credit for the favorable sale of the bonds for the construction of the waterworks. The $12000 of bonds were sold at a premium of $107 and accrued interest. In other cities and villages similar bonds have seldom sold for more than par. Transcribed by Deb Haines, Grundy County, IL CC, December 10, 1998
