Edward LISTON, of Malden, Ill., is the guest of Vernon LOWERY. Miss Mattie COLLEPS came home Thursday from her visit in the west. Miss M. BAILEY attended the Chautauqua in Ottawa from Friday until Monday. Mrs. John Van DOLSON and Mrs. John _____ returned home Monday from Ottawa. Miss Lois STRATTON is entertaining her cousin, Miss Genevieve STRATTON, of Homer this week. Dr. and Mrs. J. J. BRINCKERHOFF entertained Mr. and Mrs. H. D. CHAMBERLIN, of Chicago, over Sunday. Miss Bessie COLLEPS returned home Wednesday evening from Iowa, where she had been visiting friends for some time. Miss Helen COULEHAN has been engaged to teach the intermediate room of the Minooka public school in Miss CONLEY's place. Mrs. A. K. KNAPP and Miss Millie FLUENT returned home Tuesday from their visit in Charles City, Iowa, and other points. The new village water tank is now completed and has been filled with water. The work of laying the mains is progressing rapidly and the system will soon be complete. Michael BRANNICK returned last Monday to Tonopah, Nevada, after a visit with his relatives and friends here. Mr. BRANNICK has gold mining interests with excellent prospects at Tonopah. Two hundred loads of grain were received at the KNAPP elevator Tuesday and almost as many Wednesday. The record for one day is 234 loads, so it is seen that business with the grain dealers is good this week.
