Morris [IL] Herald July 7, 1876
The old settlers are rapidly passing away. Since our reunion last September 
three members of our association have passed to the other side of the silent 
river. They are – Abraham C. Carter, the second officer of our society; George 
H. Kiersted, whose name has been most intimately interwoven with the history 
of the county, and for 30 years a county officer; and Mrs. Morgan Button. Many 
more will soon follow –
