Mrs Bartlett was born in this county, and was about 30 years of age. She was the daughter of James S Lear, who now resides in Vienna township. She was married to Frank Bartlett in 1879, and to them were born two children, one 5 and the other 7 years old. For over a year she has been afflicted with consumption. At first it was thought that she would recover, but as time went on the fearful disease became too deeply seated to be removed, and finally resulted in taking her life. Mrs Bartlett was a good woman, a loving and devoted wife, and a tender and sympathetic mother. She was known quite extensively in this city, where she lived for a number of years. Her death will be mourned not merely by her own family, but by the many who came to know and respect her. The funeral was held on Tuesday last. A service was held in Chicago, after which the remains were brought to Morris, arriving here on the 3:42 pm train. From the depot the remains were taken directly to Evergreen cemetery where, after a brief service at the grave, they were interred.
