Beach died Friday at the home of his sister, Mrs. C. N. Porter, 3749 Lake avenue, Chicago, in the 95th year of his age. The kindly old gentleman will be well and most favorably remembered by our citizens among whom he lived for a number of years prior to six years ago. He was the father of ex-Mayor L. F. Beach, now of Joliet, and C. S. Beach, now of Chicago, and Mrs C. W. Needham, also of Chicago. Deceased was born at Balston Springs, NY, Dec 17, 1797. In early life he was an active factor in the politics of the Empire State, says the Chicago Evening Post, and was a warm friend and colleague in the New York legislature of Horatio Seymour. He voted for every Democratic candidate for president since 1820. The funeral took place Sunday morning at 11 o'clock at the residence of his sister, and the remains arrived here on the 3:42 same morning and will be placed in the vault, later to be buried by the side of his wife who died in this city about nine years ago, and who sleeps in Evergreen cemetery.
