The woman was a widow, her husband having died about ten years ago, and lived with her little daughter alone. She has been an invalid for a number of years, being a sufferer from asthma, stomach trouble and a weak heart. Yesterday she felt very bad and in the afternoon called on Dr. Nelson for treatment. Late in the evening the physician called at her home and prescribed for her. Mrs. Hutchings, mother-in-law of her married daughter, stayed with her until late and promised to call this morning again. When she arrived at the house about 8 o'clock she had some difficulty in arousing anyone, but finally the little girl opened the door and let her in. Mrs. Hutchings asked about the mother and was told she was asleep. Going into the bed room she found the woman dead, her eyes closed as in sleep and one hand laying across her breast. It was the first intimation that the daughter had of her death. She had laid by her side all night and never noticed anything out of the ordinary. Besides the 11 year old daughter who is the youngest child, there are two boys, George and Will who live in the country and Mrs. James Hutchings, who resides with her husband in the third ward. No funeral arrangements have been made. Morris, Illinois Daily Herald Monday, April 23, 1900 The funeral services of the late Mrs. Phoebe Cochram were held Sunday afternoon at the home of James Hutchings, in the 3rd ward. Rev. C.C. Lovejoy officiated. File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/il/grundy/obits/c/cockram63ob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/ilfiles/ File size: 2.4 Kb
