After the death of her mother in 1901, Inez came to Mazon to live, where her home was until July 4, 1905, when she was united in marriage to Mr. John Eldred of Morris. They lived in Morris awhile, also spent a year on the home farm. Their home has been in Racine, Wisconsin, the past few years. A year and a half ago Inez was afflicted with bronchial trouble, which terminated in tuberculosis. Thinking a dryer climate might help her disease, they sold their home in Racine and went to northern Wisconsin, but during the winter she gradually failed, and wishing to be with home people at the last they came to Morris, one week before her death. While living in Mazon, Inez united with the M. E. church, and ever afterward was a consistent follower of Christ. Always attending church service, and a member of the Sunday school, with her husband and children, wherever they lived. She was a graduate of Mazon high school of the class of 1904, and is the second one of that class to finish her work here. She leaves her husband, two little children, Clarence and Helen, to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother; two brothers, Floyd and Lloyd Keepers and many other relatives and friends who are sorrowful that this young life must leave them. A short service was held at the home of Mother Eldred at 9 o'clock Monday morning, and at 10:30 in the M. E. church in Mazon, by Rev. Barnes, assisted by Rev. Harris. The M. E. choir sung beautiful songs. The pallbearers were six cousins, namely Messr. Gardy, Roy, Wayne and Russell Misener, Floyde and Ollie Walker. Interment in the family lot in the Wheeler cemetery. -- Mazon correspondent [The above obituary, along with other articles were not published last week on account of limited space. -- Ed.] File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/il/grundy/obits/e/eldred805nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/ilfiles/ File size: 2.6 Kb
