She was born in County Tyrone, Ireland, in May, 1806. On April 16, 1850, her husband died. Five of her children had preceded her to America, and soon after the death of her husband she, together with her two youngest children, Rosanna and Father F.N.J. Gormley, who died at East Dubuque, Ill, Oct 31, 1882, joined her children here in Morris, where she has since resided. Six children survive her, to-wit: Patrick, of Braidwood; Father Peter J Gormley, of Kinsman, and John, Michael, Mrs George Kiersted and Rosanna of Morris. The funeral took place from the Catholic church Wednesday morning, a large congregation being present to witness the laat sad rite of this good, christian woman. Mrs Gormley, it will be observed, died on the thirty-eighth anniversary of the death of her husband.
