R. (Hallie) Johnson, 72, who operated a filling station on route 47 north of here at the curve in the highway near Central, died Saturday night about 6:15 in his home after an illness of about three weeks. His body was brought to the Hoganson funeral home here and returned to his own home this afternoon. Funeral services will be held in the home at 1:15 Wednesday afternoon and at 2 o'clock in Bethlehem Lutheran church in Lisbon. Rev. R. Walledom will officiate. Burial will be in Saratoga cemetery. Mr. Johnson was born March 26, 1867, in Big Grove township, Kendall county, and all of his early years were spent here. He quit farming in 1926 and moved to Morris, where he lived for five years and then bought the home on Route 47 and operated the service station. He was married 48 years ago to Miss Olivia Thompson and she survives him with two daughters, Mrs. Sanford Helgevold of Kendall county and Mrs. Larry Baudino, of here. There are also a brother, Sidney, and a sister, Mrs. Lydia Jefferson, both of Chicago. There are five grandchildren.
