The sad news of the death of Mr McCann, the father of FD Emery of Dwight was 
received too late for last week's issue. We copy the following from the Morris 
paper. The funeral services of Jas. McCann Sr, who died Wednesday afternoon, 
occurred this forenoon at 10:30, the services being held at the Catholic 
church with interment at Mt Carmel Cemetery. He was an old settler here, 
having come to Morris nearly 45 years ago. Deceased was born May 5, 1824 in 
West Meath, Ireland. He came to America in 1847 and lived in Cincinnati and 
New Orleans until 1854, when he came to Morris. In Sept 1862 he married Miss 
Mary Cruise at Wilmington and this union was blessed with a happy family of 
children, six of whom are living, Mrs. E.Z. Sattler, Mrs D.U. Hynds, Miss 
Nellie McCann and JB McCann, of Morris; Mrs Sadville, of Chicago; and Mrs FD 
Emery of Dwight.
