Oshkosh Daily Northwestern, Aug 31, 1887
Henry Morgridge, mail agent on the Rock Island road, was killed Tuesday 
between Joliet and Minooka under what appear to be peculiar circumstances. He 
was not missed from the car until the train was within a short distance of 
Joliet. When found there were many wounds on Morgridge's body, which lead the 
trainmen to the belief that he had been pounded over the head and had then 
been thrown from the car.
