Chicago Weekly Journal, Aug 24, 1846
As Mr Patrick Stanton of Morris, Grundy County in this State, was returning 
home on the morning of the 9th inst, his horses took fright and ran off. In 
attempting to jump from the wagon, he struck the hind wheel, which so injured 
him that he expired in a short time. Mr S has left a wife and two children to 
mourn his loss.
