Grundy County Sentinel, 1899
At 5:40 o’clock yesterday afternoon the spirit of Mary E. daughter of 
Supervisor and Mrs. M. B. Wilson, took its flight to its maker. The little 
girl took sick two weeks ago last Thursday and constantly grew worse, her 
death yesterday coming not unexpectedly. Heart trouble and pneumonia are given 
as the cause of dissolution. The little girl was the eldest child and would 
have been fourteen years old the eight of next month. She was a bright 
cheerful girl and the pet of the household. The whole community extends to the 
bereaved parents their heartfelt sympathy in this their house of sorrow. The 
funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock from the house, Rev. O. 
C. Johnson officiating. Interment will be made in Evergreen.
