MORGAN died this morning (no date) at an early hour at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Chloe Labhart, in Kansas City, Mo. The death of Mr. Morgan was very sudden and unexpected an members of the family here talked with him by long distance telephone at 8:30 o'clock last night. He was taken to Kansas City several weeks ago for hospital treatment. His condition was thought to be improved, and he planned to return to Mt. Vernon, probably by Saturday of this week. Death resulted from an attack of heart trouble. The body will be brought here for burial, which will take place sometime Saturday, funeral plans not having yet been completed. Dr. Morgan was a son of Phillip W. and Harriet Damon Morgan, of Hamilton county, and he was born near Dahlgren, June 17, 1861. The greater part of his life was spent in Hamilton county, and he was licensed to practice medicine 45 years ago, and continued in the active practice of his profession until his health became such a comparatively short time ago, that he was obliged to give up active life. He was one of the best known physicians of Mt. Vernon, and had many friends both in and out of the profession to which he gave so many years of a busy life. He was united in marriage March 12, 1882, with Miss Jennie Brumbaugh, who with three children survive. The children are Mrs. Delta M. Wood, Mt. Vernon; Mrs. Chloe Labhart, Kansas City, and Paul W. Morgan, St. Louis. Six grandchildren survive. Dr. Morgan is survived by two brothers, 0. A. Morgan, Columbus, Ohio, and W. G. Morgan, California, and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Wiggington of Peoria, Ill., and Mrs. Mary E. Riddle, Fisher, 111. Dr. Morgan and family located in Mt. Vernon in 1906. They had spent the winter in California for the doctor's health, coming from California to Mt. Vernon, where they ever since made their home. Dr. Morgan was elected mayor of Mt.
