Obituary of Logan A PORTER, Hamilton County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Misty Flannigan Obituary Logan A. Porter of Eldorado, died Sept. 16, 1913, aged 20 years six months and 16 days. Logan was the youngest son of the late Jas. A. Porter and Martha A. Porter of Broughton. He was converted and united with the First Baptist church at Broughton at the early age of fourteen and lived a clean upright and religious life until his death. He was married to Miss Sammie Webber the estimate and accomplished daughter of Chas. E. and Etta Webber of Eldorado on the 25th day of June 1913. He entered the class of 1909 preparatory department of pharmacy of the Millikin University at Decatur, Ill., and closed friend Charlie Webber and remained until stricken down by typhoid fever. Funeral services were held at Broughton conducted by the Rev. A. M. Kirkland assisted by the Baptist quartett of Eldorado. The body was deposited in Big Hill cemetery by the side of his father. A large consourse of relatives and sorrowing friends accompanying the remains and eight beautiful flower girls strewed his grave with beautiful flowers contributed by sorrowing friends.
