She was united in marriage to William Wheeler in 1894. To them were born eight children, namely: Wilburn, dying in infancy, Carl of Winnebago, Wis., Rosa St. Clair, Mary Barnett, Eliza Faulkner of Alton, May Boyer, Lois Faulkner, Minnie and Bill, two stepsons, John and Marshall. She was converted in early life and united with Lick Creek General Baptist church, where she remained a faithful member until death. Sister Wheeler was a devoted companion, a true and loving mother, always ready to assist those in need. In her passing the neighbors suffer great loss, but we feel that our loss is her gain. She has just gone from labor to reward. She leaves to mourn, the above named companion and children, one sister, Rose Matsumato of Chicago, four brothers, John of Rector, Ark., Riley of Maunie, Ill., Mat and Dave of McLeansboro, ten grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at Prospect Church Sunday, December 1, in the presence of a large crowd of sorrowing friends, conducted by her former pastor, Elder Robert Pierce, assisted by D.H. Knight.
