Orr Name of Newspaper: Times Leader News Obituary: Almira V. Orr TAYLOR was born June 25, 1854; departed this life Dec. 29, 1929, aged 75 years, 6 months and 4 days. She was united in marriage to Andrew J. Taylor in 1810. To this union were born seven children, namely, Rena C., wife of J. S. Hamel, who died July 7, 1898; W.M.A. of Assumption, Ill., T.0., who died Jan.10, 1903; John We of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; Charles A., of Noweaque, Ill.; Jessie A. of Mt. Zion, Ill.; and Harry of McLeansboro, Ill., with whom she made her home since the death of her husband in 1916. They also reared a grandchild, Effie R. Hamel. She was converted at the age of 15, and united with the N.E. Church at Fairview, Christian County, Illinois, and later moved her membership to the McLeansboro N. E. Church in 1906, where she remained faithful until death. She leaves to, mourn her departure, five children and eight great grandchildren, one sister, Caroline Wood, of Springfield, Ill., and one half brother, Alphar Orr, of Wichita, Kansas, besides a host of other relatives and friends. To know her was to love her, for she was a good citizen, a kind and loving wife and mother, a true and faithful friend to her neighbors. She will be greatly missed by the family and friends, but our loss is Heaven's gain. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away; blessed be the name of the Lord. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Elder John B. Mauldmg on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1929. Interment at Union Hall. (Another article reads) Nrs. Almire V. Taylor, who has been living with her son Harry Taylor, three miles west of this city, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 1929, at the residence.
