P. 9 October 24, 1901 "John H. Finley, Land Lessee, Asks For Receiver To Prevent Hostile Action By Fee Owners. John H. Findley of Hancock County, Illinois, lessee of the property at 122 to 120 Washington street, occupied in part by the Orpheon Theater, has filed a bill in the Circuit Court asking that a receiver by appointed for the property. The fee owners, he says, have threatened to have the ground lease forfeited because the insurance on the building is not fully kept up. It has been difficult to get insurance because of the recent fires. Unless the rights of the respective parties are adjudicated he fears that the tenants will move out and cause him serious loss."
