Date of Publication: Nov 28, 1895 Vol. 32, NO#43 Mrs. Sarah E. A. Eyman died at 5 p.m., Friday, Nov 14th, 1895 in her home in West Point, Ill., being 71 years 2 months and 2 days. Deceased was born in North Carolina, August 30th, 1824. She came to Illinois in 1832 with her father; they settled in Monroe County. She was married to Jacob Gibbons, February 14th, 1840, and to them five children were born. One died in infancy, leaving four to survive her by that union; their names are Mariah, Emily, Victory and Thomas. Mr. Gibbons died Jan, 3rd, 1849, On Oct 7th, 1854, she was married to Daniel Eyman, who still survives her. Five children were born to this union, two of which are dead, and three living; their names are Electa, Herschel and William. They moved to Hancock County, Nov 1856, and settled on a farm between Basco and West Point in 1881, which was their home at the time of her death. Mrs. Eyman joined the German Baptist Church, October, 1855, and remained a member of the congregation until 1888, when she and her husband united with the Christian Church in West Point. She was a member of this church when she died. Funeral conducted by Rev. W. S. Lowe, pastor. Geo. W.
