This does not relate to any surname that I am researching personally. Nancy Lawrence W. Smith, 440 Florence avenue, Ontario resident for 35 years, died yesterday at the Willow Street rest home, following a long illness, which took a critical turn a week ago. He was 75 years of age. An accountant by occupation and a native of Colusa, Ill., Mr. Smith came to California 38 years ago and moved to this community from Los Angeles three years later. His wife, Anna, died here in 1923. Surviving Mr. Smith are two daughters, Mrs. Myron Barnes, Upland, and Mrs. Albert DeFrang, Sherman Oaks; two sisters, Mrs. Orpha Myers, Albia, Ia.; and Mrs. Effie Owings, Nocta, Ill.; two brothers, Elmer of Niota, Ill.; and Roy in Kobe, Japan, and two grandchildren, Mrs. LaVonne Graham, Wilmington and Alice Ann Barnes. Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be conducted Tuesday, 2 p.m. at the J. B. Draper Memorial chapel, 127 West C street, with Elder J. L. Jesperson of the First Seventh Day Adventist church officiating. Interment will be in Bellevue cemetery.
