Obituary for Adrain Holbrook, Hardin County, Illinois Adrain Holbrook, 73, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday April 20, 1994 at the Veterans Administration Center in Columbia, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Bell Holbrook, and three brothers. His parents were Otto holbrook and Belle Oxford Holbrook. Mr. Holbrook was a retired foreman for fluorspar Mines. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Eldorado, DAV and Rod and Gun Club. Surviving are three sons, James A. Holbrook of Carrier Mills, Gaylord Holbrook of Golconda, and Carl Holbrook of Cave-in-rock; three daughters, Bonita Martin and Rebecca Barnard, both of Elizabethtown, and Joey Damron of Rosiclare; one brother Gurney Holbrook of Rialto, CA; two sisters Eithel Thompson of Roxana, and Edith Bailes of Chicago; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Aly Funeral Home. The Rev. Edward Lafferty officiated and burial was in IOOF Empire Cemetery in Elizabethtown with military rites by the Eldorado VFW Post.
