Obituary of Averilla PRICE, Hardin County, Illinois Copyright 1999 Wanda Reed Name of Deceased: Averilla Price Name of Newspaper: Hardin County Independent Date of Newspaper: 31 July 1952 Obituary: Averilla Price, daughter of Logan and Mary Belt, deceased, passed away July 18, 1952 at the Lightner Hospital, Harrisburg, IL. She was born in Hardin County 22 October 1865 where she spent her entire life. At the time of her death she was 86 years, 9 months and 6 days old. She was first united in marriage to Chris Dale in 1883. To this union three children were born. Two died in infancy. One daughter, Mrs Sudie Tucker, Cave-in-Rock, survives her. Mrs. Price had made her home for the past two years with Mrs. Tucker. In 1891 she was united in marriage to James P. Price. Five children were born to this union. They and the husband preceded her in death. Mrs. Price professed faith in Christ in early life and was an active church worker as long as her health permitted her to be. Ailing health did not cause her faith to waiver. In her declining years she gave testimony to many that she was ready to meet her loving Savior. In addition to the above mentioned daughter, she leaves to mourn her passing one sister, Mrs. Laura Frailey, Cave-in-Rock, one brother Jonathan Belt, Roxanna, IL, four grandchildren, Millard Dutton Royal Oak, MI., whom she helped to rear from infancy, Willard Tucker, Washington, Audrey Asbell, Detroit, and Pauline Pennell, Cave-in-Rock, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a great number of other relatives and friends. The body was brought to the Rose Funeral Home Monday and remained there until Wednesday afternoon, when the funeral was held at Mt. Zion Church. The minister who officiated were Rev. Raymond Rose and Rev. George Dutton.
