Obituary of Arza Burklow, Hardin County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 1999 Wanda Reed Name of Deceased: Arza BURKLOW Name of Newspaper: Hardin County Independent Date of Newspaper: 18 Jan 1945 Born on July 10, 1898, near Cave-in-Rock, Illinois, Arza Burklow, son of Wm. M. and Effie Burklow, died at the hospital in Rosiclare, Ill., January 10, 1945, his age being 46 years and 6 months. On December 27, 1916, he was united in marriage to Miss Ethel Ledbetter. To this union were born two children, a daughter, who died in infancy, and a son S 1/C Lambert Burklow, who is serving his country in the United States Navy at some undisclosed place on the high seas. Mr. Burklow and his wife had spent their married life on a farm near where he was born and thru industry and good management had succeeded in providing for themselves a comfortable home and living. The deceased a few years ago professed faith in Christ at the Mt. Zion General Baptist church during a revival meeting conducted by the late Rev. Asroe Owen. His parents, his wife, his son, one grand-daughter, Edna May Burklow; two sisters, Mrs Lola Randleman, Eddyville, Ill., and Miss Lennie Burklow, East Alton, Ill., and one brother Arnold Burklow, near Cave-in-Rock, are left in sorrow at his passing.
