Obituary-Mrs Annie Sheridan-Hardin County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Wanda Reed Mrs Annie Sheridan, age 79, and widow of the late John Sheridan, a Civil War veteran, died at her home in Cave-in-Rock early Tuesday morning. Mrs. Sheridan had been critically ill with cancer for the past month, so her death was not unexpected. She was born near Sturgis, Kentucky, but following her marriage in 1888, came to Hardin County and had spent most of her life either in or near Cave-in-Rock. Survivors include three sons and one daughter. Phillip, Harlan, Luther Sheridan and Mrs. Charles Jenkins: eight grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. There are also two surviving sisters, Mrs. Naomi Sheridan, Sturgis, KY and one who lives in Louisana. The funeral was held at the Methodist Church in Cave-in-Rock Wednesday afternoon. Rev. J.R. Keeling, an old time friend of the family, was assisted in the service by the Rev. O. A. Stine, pastor of the church.
