Obituary of Charles SOWARD, Hardin County, Illinois Contributed for the use of USGenWeb Archives Copyright 1999 Wanda Reed Name of Deceased: Charles SOWARD Name of Newspaper: Hardin County Independent Date of Newspaper: 27 June 1929 Charles Soward was born September 21, 1853 in Hardin County, Illinois and departed this life June 16, 1929 at his home in Rosiclare, age 75 years, 8 months and 16 days. He was a resident of this territory during his entire life. He was united in marriage to Miss Crusen December 28, 1878. To this union was born seven children: Mantie, Clarence E., Millie McCue, Clyne N., Mable, Vernon B. and Fern Patton. Two of these, Montie and Mable preceded thier father in death. Early in life he chose Christ for his Savior and joined the Methodist Episcopal Church of Rosiclare. He was a member of this church over fifty years. He leaves to mourn his departure three sons, two daughters and a host of relatives and friends. The funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal Church Monday June 17 at 10:00 o'clock, conducted by the pastor the Rev. Dr. W. I.
