Obituary of Edna Ann KNIGHT, Hardin County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 1999 Wanda Reed Name of Deceased: Edna Ann KNIGHT Name of Newspaper: Hardin County Independent Date of Newspaper: 13 April 1939 "Life is just one swift flight. It shines like a star at night, And again, like the stars at break of day; It gently, quietly fades away." The truth of the words of the poet was clearly demonstrated when on Saturday the Death Angel in search of jewels for his kingdom entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Knight and took their loving daugher, Edna Ann from her room to one more beautifully prepared by her Heavenly Father in the great home of many mansions, of which He has said, "I go to prepare a place for you so that where I am there ye may be also." She was born March 11, 1937 and died April 8, 1939, being at the time of her death two years and twenty-nine days of age. While her time here was of short duration by her kind and loving disposition she became the light and life of the home. With her pleasing personality she won her way into the heart of those with whom she was associated. She is not dead. She has just gone to be with her Savior who so beautifully said, "Suffer the little children to come unto me for of such is the kingdom of Heaven." While our hearts go out in sympathy to the bereaved father and mother may the passing of their dear one, bring them nearer to Heaven and Heaven nearer to them for, where our treasures are there will our hearts be also. May they look unto the ever loving Father who is the only one able to comfort their sorrowing hearts and help them bear this great loss. Besides the bereaved father and mother she leaves five half brothers and five half sisters. After funeral services by Bro. K. Pittman at the Christian Church all that was mortal of Edna Ann was conveyed to the IOOF Cemetery where she was laid to await the Reusrrection. Written by Mattie S.
