Obituary for Ellen Patton, Hardin County, IL The death of Mrs Ellen Patton, nee Stokes, which occured at her home a few miles south of Potts Hill, near Baugher School house, last week after a lingering and painful illness of a long duration, removed from that community one of its best and lovable women, one whose every impulse ws to do good, ane whose altrustic spirit was second only to her older sister Aunt Bet Rutherford. In fact it was a characteristic in the family, including still an older sister Mrs. Mary Patton and a brother W.E. Stokes, the latter a most and upright citizen, both of whom, with the deceased, leave a reputation of altruism and good deeds generally that will enter their havens of final rest as a sweet incense and menory of upright and well spent lives. She had no children of her own, but several step-children that loved her as a mother and her them as her children. They were all faithful to the end. She was laid to rest in the Angleton cemetery beside her relatives. Funeral srevices by M.F. Oxford.
