Obituary of Elizabeth FERRELL, Hardin County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 1999 Wanda Reed Name of Deceased: Elizabeth Ferrell Name of Newspaper: Hardin County Independent Date of Newspaper: 13 September 1920 Elizabeth Ferrell Lynn was born near Pleasant Hill May 1, 1840 and died Sept. 9, 1928 at Elizabethtown, Illlinois at her home; age 88 years, 4 months and 9 days. She was married in 1865 to Jonathan Franklin Lynn, to this union four children were born. Her husband died in 1887 near Battery Rock in the eastern part of the county. Two of the children died in infancy and was buried with their father at Brown's cemetery; two of her daughters was reared to womanhood and are as follows: Virginia Nichols, now deceased and one daughter still survives, Mrs. Fannie L. Simmons of Saline Creek. She leaves four grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild. The subject of this sketch professed faith in her blessed Savior a good many years ago and united with the General Baptist Church at Mt. Zion in the year 1894 and called on her Great Redemmer many times during her suffering the last few months. Aunt Bettie, as she was known all over the county was a hard-working, indus- trious woman and will be greatly missed by her family, and many friends. Peace and love to you. The funeral services were held at the M. E. Church Tuesday at 10:30, conducted by Rev. E.
