Obituary for Gwynn Holbrooks, Hardin County, Illinois On February 12, 1959, Gwynn Holbrooks suffered a fatal heart attack at his home in New Eagle, PA. He was born in Elizabethtown, Hardin Co. IL. 7 Jan 1914, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Holbrook He was married 27 Oct 1947 to Vada Austin and to this union a son Gwynn David was born. He served his country for four years, in the home-land and over seas, during WWII. Surley his creed of life was the realization of the value of a smile, making you feel life was worth living. Journeying to the far-off shores of Eternity at the age of 45 years, 1 month and 5 days, he leaves a devoted wife, one son and one step son Ronnie Austin, an aged mother, two sisters, Edith Baylous, Waukegan, IL and Mrs. Ethel Thompson, Elizabethtown. Brothers, Captain Gurney Holbrook, Anchorage, Alaska, Gilbert and Adrain of Elizabethtown, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. His father and one brother, Gaylord have preceded him in death.
