Obituary of Mrs. Hannah Baldwin, Hardin County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 1999 Wanda Reed Name of Deceased: Mrs. Hannah Baldwin Name of Newspaper: Hardin County Independent Date of Newspaper: 11 July 1929 Mrs. Hannah Baldwin, daughter of Jacob and Pollyann Shelby, was born September 6, 1869; departed this life June 30, 1929 at her home near Eichorn, Illinois aged 60 years, 9 months and 24 days. She was the youngest of a family of 17 children. She was united in marriage to John B. Baldwin, December 20, 1885, with whom she lived until death. She professed faith in Christ some 30 years ago. She never united with any church but lived a true christian throughout life. All that medical and loving hands could do was done but God in his wisdom saw fit to call her home to a world where there is no sorrow and pain. Indeed is our sorrow but we realize our loss is her eternal gain. She leaves behind a loving husband, a sister, Mrs Martha Vaughn and one brother James J. Shelby. She was preceded to the great Beyond by 14 brothers and sisters, two of whom died in infancy, others namely: Mrs Anna Vaughn, Mrs Harriet Rotes ? Mrs Angeline Ledbetter, Mrs Edith Ledbetter, Mrs. Margaret Ledbetter, Mrs Elizabeth Carter, Mrs Sarah Christy, Mrs Mary Allen, Relle? Shelby and Grant Shelby. She is also survived by a host of other relatives to mourn her loss. She was a loving wife, a good neighbor and loved by all who knew her. Among her last words were expressed of regret to leave us all. Her work on earth is done, her pleasant voice hushed, her feet no longer press along the shores of time but the sweet memory of her who is gone will never be forgotten by those who loved her. ------------------------------------------------------------------ USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organiza- tions or persons.
